Inspired by a fellow blogger’s hilariously accurate thoughts, I thought I’d share some of my favorite things in life 🙂
I absolutely love…
Weight Watchers. No weight loss program has ever made me feel this good about myself. Not only am I having loads of success with it in terms of the numbers on the scale, I’m getting some of the greatest support and motivation from the message boards. I’ve met some of the most inspirational young women on these boards, and they’ve been such an inspiration to me when I really just want to shove my face with a massive cheeseburger (which I still do on occasion, don’t let me fool you).
Paying my bills online. Everyone hates paying bills, duh. But I am QUEEN of late payments because I’m just too lazy to carry my checkbook around (um hello, paper is totally outdated – helloooo plastic). Chase Online allows me to pay everything online – and even send checks to my mother so she can withhold money from me that I would otherwise waste on alcohol and frivolous purchases. This system has seriously saved my life – and my credit line.
Running. When did I become this person? I used to despise any sort of physical activity, let alone something that is monotonous and not to mention hard on your entire body. But lately, it’s become the biggest addiction ever. The Couch to 5k Program is an awesome way to get started. Don’t think you can be a runner? Um hello, have you met me? Well actually, probably not. But I’m the farthest thing from a runner that you can imagine. It’s a gradual program, and I’ve sort of adjusted it to my own abilities.
BD’s Mongolian Grill. Um seriously, is there a better place to eat? Not only do you get to stuff your face with deliciousness for a pretty decent price (the lunch menu is much more reasonable, at about $8 for a bowl), it’s also HEALTHY for you. I know, right? The place offers a plethora of healthy options, and you can even go to www.gomongo.com and create your own bowl online – it even gives you nutrition information for your own specially made creation. GREAT option for those of us trying to drop the lbs.
Concerts. I really don’t think I could live without the rush you get from being at a live show. Dingy concert halls really are my safe haven, and jamming out with total strangers who all seem to be there for one single purpose is usually nothing less than amazing. It always seems that this is the one form of entertainment I am willing to drop lots of cash money on, simply because every single show you go to is a once in a lifetime opportunity. I’m going to a show next week, and I couldn’t be more psyched.
Athens, Ohio bars. I mean really, there’s nothing better. What more could a 20-something soul ask for? An entire street lined with bars, and there’s something for everyone. Whether you’d like to have a party in the USA with Miley Cyrus or bond with strangers over unity circles to Elton John’s “Circle of Life” from The Lion King (true story), you’re bound to find something that suits your fancy. Never in my entire life have I felt more like myself than when I’m in that town.
Here’s what I’ve noticed about my favorite things – I really, really, really love love love them. There’s no in between. The things I love – I really love. And the things I hate? Well, you guessed it. I loath them.
